Dr. Tanya Averil Bio:
“Dr. Tanya” as she is affectionately called by her patients is a board certified chiropractor and licensed in the state of Arizona. Her interest in healing without dependency on drugs or surgery led her to study chiropractic and other types of natural health care. She graduated in 1999 with her Doctorate of Chiropractic and Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN.

Dr. Tanya has a personal reason why she became a chiropractor. She was a Saskatchewan Provincial Gymnastics champion and had many chronic injuries. She had a great team of Physical Therapists and a Chiropractor that she saw on a regular basis to enhance her performance and treat her many injuries. She found a huge benefit to being adjusted and realized this was her life passion – to help others as her chiropractor had helped her. Since she also benefited from the physical therapy treatments, she has a functional approach to care which includes physical therapy modalities, therapeutic exercises, and specific muscle work. Dr. Tanya believes in an integrated approach to healing and enjoys a referral relationship with medical doctors, dentists, physical therapists, naturopathic doctors, acupuncturists & massage therapists.

For manipulating joints, she uses Diversified Adjusting, Activator, and mobilization techniques. For muscular therapy she employs a variety of massage techniques including trigger point therapy, myofascial release, integrative stretching, as well as acupressure. Dr. Tanya considers herself very blessed. She has had great experience and has had the pleasure of working on professional and olympic athletes. She loves her career and it shows.
